A Message from your Children’s Ministry Coordinator… by Suzie Hershberger

I love this job. So very much. Getting to know your kids, having the privilege of sharing God’s word with them, and even the planning, organizing, and committee meetings behind it all! But, there’s one thing I do not like… and that is asking for help! It may not seem like it, but some days I just want to talk with you and hear about how your family is doing…  NOT ask if you can help with Sunday School, or Sports Camp, or Ekklesia, or complete background checks and safety trainings! But the fact is that our children need us ALL! And more than money or snacks or any other tangible thing, they need our TIME!
Perhaps you are thinking that you’re already lacking in the time department. Perhaps you’re thinking that you’ve already “done your time” in children’s ministries—that it’s someone else’s turn now. Or, perhaps you are afraid that you’ll “mess up” when faced with a class full of little ears, wiggly bodies, and big questions. But, no matter how many reasons we can give ourselves for not jumping in, our covenant children will be waiting every Sunday morning and Wednesday night for someone to come and tell them the Good News of Jesus.
Not sure where to start? Come and talk with me! Try it out for a 13-week quarter! We can pair you with a seasoned children’s ministry volunteer. I promise, it’s not rocket science! It’s FAR more important than that! And, you’ll probably love it.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
