Prayer Focus: Our Vocational Efforts

 THIS WEEK’S PRAYER FOCUS: From the beginning God created humans with the capacity and the responsibility to work and to tend to His Creation (Gen. 2:15). Beyond the general call of tending to the Creation He has also called people to particular vocations. As we celebrate our labor this week pray that our vocational efforts (whether we be students, homemakers, hourly workers, professionals, business owners or volunteers) would be carried out in the grace of Christ. Ask the Lord to gift His people to be able to uniquely fulfill their work responsibilities in such a way that brings glory to Him. Pray that we would be rightly submissive to those in authority over us so that our work is a testimony to Christ. Pray that those in positions of authority would properly provide their workers with appropriate pay, benefits, work conditions, leadership, etc. so that they would know that our Great Master is the Lord above (Eph. 6:5-9).
