THIS WEEK’S PRAYER FOCUS: Pray for the Elders and Deacons of our church. Give thanks that God has provided many to serve in these roles for the growth of His church and the advance of the Gospel. Give thanks also that we have Jesus, the one Head of the Church, who carries all His people forward through this life and through eternity. Pray for the leadership of the Elders, asking the Lord to give them a weighty sense of their calling, and a joy to carry it out for Jesus’ sake. Pray for their personal spiritual lives and the lives of their families, that the Lord would grant peace and perseverance in godliness. Ask that they would be spared from temptation. Pray also for our Deacons, as they serve the church. Pray that their diligent efforts would be a means God would use to advance the preaching of the Word. Pray for all the administration (including finances) that is required to utilize our facilities for ministry. Finally, pray that God would raise up future leaders from among our number.
